Platform Infrastructure Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Platform Architect to join our IT Infrastructure Architecture and Design team. As we transition from on-premises infrastructure to a cloud-first strategy, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our technology landscape. You will collaborate with a team of experienced architects responsible for networking, databases, virtualization, and other core technologies, bringing deep Azure expertise to guide our cloud journey.

While this position focusses on Azure, the Platform Architect will also be involved in the continuing technical evolution of our private cloud as well as in adopting other public cloud platforms., * Design and architecture of Azure-based platforms, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and business goals.

• Collaborate with other platform architects to integrate Azure services with on-prem technologies during the hybrid phase.
• Evaluate emerging Azure services and technologies, and assess their relevance to our business.
• Develop business cases, technical roadmaps, and implementation plans for new Azure-based initiatives.
• Define best practices on security, scalability, cost optimization, and governance in Azure.
• Support the migration of workloads from on-prem to Azure from an infrastructure point of view by re-architecting from the hardware and software choices that have been made for on premises deployments to Azure-native components and solution
• Act as a subject matter expert and mentor for Azure within the Infrastructure Architecture and Design team.
• Contribute to the continuing evolution of the on-premises infrastructure or private cloud.
• Propose cost effective alternatives to existing solutions

Do you have experience in Windows?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent through experience.

• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor technical teams in a cloud environment.
• Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Administrator Associate.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT with at least 3 years in cloud architecture roles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Required Experience on Azure

• Proven multi-year experience in designing and implementing solutions on Microsoft Azure.
• Strong understanding of Azure IaaS, PaaS, networking, identity, and security services.
• Experience with hybrid cloud environments and integration with on-prem infrastructure.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Bicep, ARM templates, Terraform, Ansible).
• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable and secure technical solutions.
• Ability to drive change in an environment
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Highly preferred Additional Experience

• Experience with on-premise virtualization, networking, databases and other technologies is a very strong plus. These technologies include

• Virtualization/IaaS: VMware/OpenStack
• K8s: OpenShift
• Operating Systems: RedHat Linux, Microsoft Windows
• Networking: Cisco ACI
• Database: Oracle/Couchbase

• Knowledge of general enterprise networking and security principles.
• Experience with other cloud platforms (Oracle OCI, Amazon AWS, Google GCP) is a definite plus.
