Digital Transformation Specialist - Careers at IDS

As Digital Transformation Specialist, you play a key role in digitizing and thus optimizing our (new) services as transport director. In doing so, you operate at the interface of operations and technology. Your focus areas are diverse. For instance, you are responsible for developing and managing our Managed EDI and API solutions that streamline communication between our customers and the various logistics partners.

You are also (co-)responsible for the execution of improvement projects and give advice on process improvement within IDS and for our customers. In the improvement projects, you focus on implementation on the work floor. You will create support, train employees and make them owners of the change. Following a fixed step-by-step plan, you go from strategy to operations and via the analysis phase and improvement sessions to the implementation of new processes and methodologies. As Transport Manager, you and your team determine priorities and ensure that questions are handled quickly and correctly. You are constantly talking to customers about their transport needs, regular transports, rush orders and specific transport issues and you look for the best solutions within our network and otherwise outside it. You are also actively involved in optimizing processes and coaching your team.

Periodically you create rate sheets for shippers and our carriers based on the cargo flows of our customers and you ensure that these are prepared for recording in our Transport Management System (TMS). You are leading in this. You also ensure that, for example, diesel oil surcharges are determined, communicated with carriers and shippers and recorded. Searching for efficiency and immersing yourself in the customer's cargo flows and the partners' specialties is what it is all about.

Depending on your interests and ambitions, you can also take up tasks in the area of quality or carrier management. And otherwise, for example, application management.
