Job description
As a Cloud Engineer, you'll help build and maintain the technical backbone of our cloud infrastructure. You will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining our GCP-based cloud platform, championing best practices in Kubernetes orchestration, and enforcing infrastructure-as-code standards through Terraform.
You'll be closely involved in shaping the direction of our platform and making decisions that have a direct impact on how we scale.
This role requires someone who is self-driven, comfortable with ambiguity, and eager to make confident, strategic infrastructure decisions. You'll play a key part in building a foundation that supports a rapidly growing SaaS platform., * Contribute to the design and management of our GCP infrastructure, helping with scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters for performance, observability, and automation
- Implement Infrastructure as Code and GitOps to maintain scalable, secure, and reproducible infrastructure across all environments
- Collaborate with backend, frontend, and QA engineers to support fast and safe software delivery
- Optimise cloud infrastructure for performance, reliability, and cost
- Drive automation across CI/CD, deployments, monitoring, and incident response
- Own and maintain our CircleCI pipelines to ensure efficient, reliable build and deploy processes
- Work closely with senior engineers, learning from their expertise while contributing to improvements.
- Make architectural decisions independently and communicate clearly with the team
Requirements
- 3+ years managing cloud infrastructure with hands-on experience in Google Cloud Platform
- Experience with managed Kubernetes (we use GKE) and container orchestration at scale
- Proficiency with Terraform, including writing modular, reusable code
- Experience with CircleCI or similar for CI/CD and a willingness to move to GitHub Actions
- Comfortable working in high-autonomy, high-trust startup environments
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or similar
- Clear communicator who can explain complex infrastructure decisions and tradeoffs.
- Strong grasp of security principles, networking, and IAM in cloud environments, * Experience with Helm, ArgoCD, or GitOps workflows
- Exposure to Laravel PHP or Node.js runtime environments
- Background in platform observability, SLOs, and incident response
- Experience building infrastructure from early-stage MVP to production-scale platforms
