The RoleAs Co-Founder and CTO, you will be instrumental in translating our concept into a working prototype and shaping the technical vision of the company. You will design, build, and iterate the electronics, imaging, and embedded systems architecture that underpin our wearable platform.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the technical development of a novel wearable health-monitoring deviceDesign and integrate miniaturized imaging sensors, optics, and supporting electronics within an eyewear form factorDevelop and implement embedded systems and wireless data transfer (e.g., Bluetooth / BLE) to mobile applicationsOversee all aspects of hardware and software integration, including firmware and sensor controlCollaborate with the founding team to refine the product strategy, regulatory pathway, and go-to-market plan, What We OfferFounding-level equity - direct ownership and alignment with company growthOpportunity to define and lead the entire technical roadmapWork alongside a highly experienced, mission-driven founding teamThe chance to create breakthrough technology with real global health impact How to ApplyIf you're an engineer who can build things that others only imagine - and you want to help pioneer a new frontier in wearable health technology - we'd love to hear from you. Requirements
Required Experience and SkillsThe candidate must be based in the UK or mainland Europe only.Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronics Engineering (or related field)7-15+ years of experience developing wearables, medical devices, and/ or consumer electronicsProven record of end-to-end prototype development, from concept to bench-tested systemsStrong expertise in embedded design, optics, and sensor integrationExperience with microcontrollers, Bluetooth connectivity, and low-power architecturesUnderstanding of data transfer protocols and mobile app interfacingFamiliarity with regulatory and safety standards for medical or wellness devices Desirable ExperiencePrior startup or founding experience in hardware or healthtechKnowledge of AI, ML or signal-processing applications in imaging or biometricsExperience with patent filings or novel device developmentFamiliarity with biometric sensing, optical systems, or ocular imaging a plus Personal QualitiesVisionary thinker with a deep passion for applying technology to improve health outcomesHighly hands-on, capable of building and testing independentlyStrong problem-solving ability and attention to detailExcellent communicator, able to articulate complex systems clearlyResilient and adaptable, thriving in an early-stage startup environment
