Job description

You'll be involved in the full software development lifecycle - from designing and building new features to testing, reviewing code, and helping to deliver high-quality, scalable cloud services. You'll work closely with other engineers, testers and product team members, contributing to sprint planning, stand-ups and reviews., * Develop clean, maintainable, high-quality Java code.

  • Build and maintain cloud-based services.
  • Write unit tests and contribute to automated test coverage.
  • Take part in design and code reviews.
  • Collaborate within an Agile/Scrum environment to meet sprint goals.
  • Document your work and share knowledge with the wider team., This role requires around 60% onsite work each week. Standard hours are 35 per week, worked over 4.5 days between 7am and 7pm (flexible within business needs). Occasional travel between UK sites may be required.

Requirements

  • Strong commercial experience with Java.
  • Experience developing cloud services.
  • Good understanding of unit testing and quality assurance.
  • Comfortable working in Agile teams.

Nice-to-have skills:

  • Knowledge of DevSecOps tools such as Tekton, ArgoCD or SonarQube.
  • Experience with Kubernetes or Red Hat OpenShift.
  • Familiarity with the Quarkus framework.
  • Front-end development experience using Angular.

Security clearance: You must already have, or be eligible to obtain, SC Clearance.
