Java Developer

We are IT Recruitment Specialists partnered with a massive Global Consultancy who require a Java Developer for one of their Public sector Clients. This will be a 6-month contract based in Southend.

The Developer will work within a Development team, and may be involved in development of new products and maintenance of existing products. Carrying out development in accordance with the agreed requirements and development standards

Tasks: Testing of products in accordance with the test strategy to ensure that they are fit for purpose Assisting the Team Leader in examining packages of work and giving realistic timescales for completion Completion of work allocated within agreed time, cost and quality criteria and providing progress reports on assigned work as required Management and control of problems and change within their area of responsibility as requested by the Team Leader, including negotiation with other teams as necessary Prompt escalation of problems, issues and risks as necessary Playing an active part in Process improvement, awareness of and compliance with all relevant quality processes

Tech: Java

Must have strong Java knowledge & experience in J2EE 1.5 & 1.6 Environment Must have proven Java knowledge & experience in Java Micro Services specifically Java Spring Boot (2 Year strong experience). Have experience of working to and in a Scrum/Kanban environment. Experience of Agile SAFe will be advantageous. Will have worked on Hybrid cloud based solutions utilising AWS. Experience of developing using Java 8 Experience in MySQL Experience in Docker Experience in Jira, Confluence Experience in a Test-Driven Development, BDD and Pair Programming Experience of using code quality tools like PMD and Checkstyle

The individuals will be solely dedicated to non-functional enhancements of applications. Hence the Devs and Testers will need to demonstrate experience on NFRs/Non-functional Requirements.

The intention is to run performance engineering alongside functional development so people with performance/tuning/Real Time experience will be useful
