Job description

The Data Product Owner (DPO) plays a key role in defining, developing, and delivering the new analytics platform that will integrate data across our regions. The role is responsible for translating business needs into clear data product definitions, ensuring that the platform delivers trusted, consistent, and high-quality data to power performance reporting, insights, decision-making, and innovation across the company.

The DPO leads the development of data products by business domain (e.g., Commercial, Finance, Marketing), ensuring alignment between business stakeholders, data engineering, and analytics teams. Acting as the bridge between business context and technical execution, the DPO ensures that each data product, from raw ingestion (Bronze) to curated models (Silver and Gold), meets clear business objectives, governance standards, and quality expectations.

By applying product thinking to data, the DPO ensures the platform evolves as a living ecosystem of reusable, well-documented, and high-impact data assets that support Entain's strategic and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

Data Product Ownership

  • Define and maintain the roadmap for data products within assigned domains (e.g., Commercial, Finance, Marketing), ensuring alignment with business priorities.
  • Translate business requirements into clear data product definitions and data contracts for each layer of the data platform (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
  • Partner with data engineering to design and deliver scalable, reliable data pipelines and models that meet agreed service levels and performance targets.
  • Own the intake and delivery of requests for new or expanded data, coordinating technical team ensuring stakeholder needs are captured, prioritised, and delivered through governed data products, while safeguarding a single source of truth.
  • Ensure data products are discoverable, well-documented, and reusable across regions and business units.

Data Governance & Quality

  • Define and enforce quality expectations, validation rules, and freshness SLAs for data products.
  • Ensure each dataset has clear ownership, metadata, and lineage documented in the data catalogue.
  • Work with governance teams to maintain a single source of truth and standardised metrics across regions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with regional analytics, engineering, and commercial teams to prioritise data needs and coordinate delivery.
  • Align data producers and consumers (BI, Finance, Marketing) so models underpin trusted reporting and communicate priorities/progress to senior stakeholders.

Strategy & Continuous Improvement

  • Support the creation of a data platform that scales across multiple regions and domains while remaining modular and adaptable.
  • Drive adoption of best practices in data modelling, metadata management, and semantic layer development.
  • Continuously improve documentation, processes, and communication between data and business teams.

Requirements

  • Strategic thinker with a strong product mindset - focused on delivering business value through data.
  • Excellent communicator, able to explain technical data concepts in clear, accessible language.
  • Highly collaborative, able to align diverse teams across regions, functions, and technical disciplines.
  • Organized and proactive, capable of prioritizing competing demands and managing multiple roadmaps.
  • Detail-oriented, ensuring high standards of data quality, documentation, and governance.
  • Comfortable working in an evolving environment, building from foundation to scale.
