Job description

This is a hands-on, frontend-first senior engineering role, reporting directly to the Director of Technology. This is a high-autonomy role in a small team, suited to engineers who are comfortable managing their own priorities and momentum.

You'll play a key role in scaling our Shopify Hydrogen headless storefront, improving performance, shipping features quickly, and supporting the launch of our mobile app. It's an excellent opportunity for a strong engineer stepping into their first senior role, with real ownership and autonomy.

You'll work closely with design, operations and growth to build a faster, more reliable, and more scalable customer experience.

What You'll Do

  • Build and ship customer-facing features using React, TypeScript and Shopify Hydrogen
  • Implement high-quality, accessible, responsive UI from design
  • Maintain and evolve our component library and design system
  • Support mobile parity within our WebView app (launching 2026)
  • Leverage low-code / no-code tools where appropriate
  • Embrace modern LLM and AI tooling as part of day-to-day delivery
  • Improve code quality, structure, documentation and testing
  • Support experimentation, analytics, A/B testing and performance optimisation
  • Diagnose and resolve issues across browsers, devices and edge cases

Requirements

  • Strong experience with React and modern TypeScript/JavaScript
  • Able to deliver polished, production-ready UI
  • Comfortable improving performance and debugging complex issues
  • Pragmatic, curious, and ready to take on more ownership
  • Good design instinct and attention to detail
  • Clear communicator and collaborative team member
  • Comfortable working with analytics and experimentation

You'll Thrive Here If…

  • You're the kind of engineer who sees an ambiguous problem and feels energised, not blocked, by the need to define the solution yourself
  • You're comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
  • You like taking end-to-end ownership of problems, not just writing code handed to you
  • You're pragmatic and outcome-focused, favouring progress over perfection
  • You're curious about using AI, low-code, and modern tooling to move faster
  • You care about building products that have real-world impact on people's health

Benefits & conditions

  • Circa £60,000 salary
  • Company options scheme
  • Remote-first working within the UK
  • Direct collaboration with senior leadership
  • A small, mission-driven team
  • Discounts on our meals
  • The chance to shape a health-focused digital product with real impact
