Job description
Introduction Our client provides key applications and software for the government and are looking for experienced software engineers to join their team. You will need to be experienced in Java software, and ideally have other experience in Python. You will need to have worked on Government projects before to be considered for this role. Working Patterns: Predominantly onsite. Option for flexible working, including every other Friday off. Key responsibilities Work with clients in the Government sector to deliver end-to-end software features. Planning, conducting and coordinating software development activities. Design and development of tests to debug software Working with customer requirements that are to be programmed into business/mission applications, whilst utilising the appropriates standards, processes and tools throughout the entire development lifecycle. Documentation of programme development. Analysis of system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output
Requirements
requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Help the client and end users to understand the solutions that need to be developed Skills & experience Proficient in current Java and other languages such as Python. Experience of developing on Linux would be desirable. Knowledge of Agile Development using SCRUM. Experience in mentoring junior team members at the senior levels. Experience in Oracle/ Relational Databases and/or Mongo. Experience in GitLab CI/CD Pipelines. Experience with front-end technologies would be helpful. Knowledge of Hibernate. Proficiency in the use of Atlassian Suite - Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence.
