Job description
A Network Security Engineer works closely with Network Engineers from other areas of the network." As Network Security Engineer you will be working with next generation firewalls, DoS and DDoS mitigation solutions, security reporting tools." Working with change control, you'll be reviewing and approving proposals, designs submitted by your peers and other network engineers." You will have a hands-on approach on security policies in general, and experience with enforcement to benefit both users and the internet." As a first point of contact for vendors, you will be working with external parties to help improve and fine tune security solutions." What you'll do

Perform troubleshooting on a wide range of devices

Review changes and proposals from a security point of view

Enforce policies protecting both the internet and clients from abuse

Manage and fine tune security solutions

Provide stats & reports for analysis

Be a point of contact for suppliers and vendors

Review security vulnerabilities and work with other teams to provide a fix

Participate in on-call duties with the rest of the team, The team is under the Comms & Infrastructure area, sitting within Enterprise Operations . Despite its location, it is closely working with the Telco / Broadband teams as well . The team is made up of four network engineers with a technical team lead, supporting firewalls, IPS/IDS, AAA and VPN solutions along with DoS and DdoS mitigation infrastructure. Requirements
- Proven working experience in routing, switching and firewalling
- Practical experience in configuring and troubleshooting VPN solutions and network errors
- Extensive knowledge of common application protocols
- Proven working experience in design review, change approval
- Experience working with scalable solutions (example: HA) in an enterprise environment
- Good scripting knowledge in any of the common scripting languages (Perl , Shell, Python, PHP , etc)
- Good communication skills for both internal and external communications
