Job description

The QA Data & Insights Engineer is a QA domain expert responsible for configuring and maintaining locally owned QA automation systems and serving as the local point of contact for globally owned automation systems. This role builds and maintains data pipelines, dashboards, and validation artifacts using Python, PySpark, and Databricks. The engineer supports UAT, translates end-user needs into technical requirements, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives across QA and supply chain processes., The QA Data & Insights Engineer is a QA domain expert responsible for configuring and maintaining locally owned QA automation systems and serving as the local point of contact for globally owned automation systems. This will involve:

  • Configure, maintain and update locally owned QA automation systems (e.g., SmartQA, R Shiny reporting tools, Raw Materials Release tool, Tableau dashboards).
  • Design, build and maintain data pipelines and databases using Python, PySpark, and Databricks.
  • Translate user requirements into technical specifications and collaborate with IT/engineering teams to deliver solutions.
  • Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities and ensure traceability to requirements.
  • Provide operational support and troubleshooting for computerized systems.
  • Participate in local and global automation projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Create and maintain departmental dashboards and reports that support QA decision-making.

Requirements

You will have a Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Computer Science, or equivalent experience alongside strong hands-on experience with Python and Databricks. You will also bring:

  • Experience with PySpark.
  • Familiarity with SDLC principles and UAT practices.
  • Knowledge of GAMP5 and 21 CFR Part 11 (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of structured data and SQL (desirable).
  • Experience in QA processes and quality systems is an advantage.
  • Excellent written communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Technical skills: Python, PySpark, Databricks, data pipelines, ETL, SQL, Tableau, R Shiny (or similar).
  • Compliance knowledge: GMP, GAMP5, 21 CFR Part 11, SDLC and validation lifecycle.
  • Process skills: UAT planning and execution, change control, deviation handling, release processes.
  • Soft skills: Prioritization, troubleshooting, independent initiative, stakeholder management.
