Job description

As an Information Security Specialist, you'll be at the heart of our transformation journey, helping to shape the future of information security across our Mission Systems business. This is a dynamic and impactful role where your expertise will directly contribute to the safety and resilience of our operations, supporting national defence and critical infrastructure.

Day-to-day, you'll be:

  • Supporting vulnerability management activities, including assessments and control evaluations.
  • Maintaining and enhancing our Information Security Management System (ISO27001).
  • Creating and managing high-quality security documentation and reports.
  • Collaborating with the Information Security Manager to embed best practices across the programme.
  • Driving the growth and maturity of information security within the business.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days onsite and 3 days working from home.

Requirements

  • Background in IT, ideally with experience in networking, systems engineering or administration.
  • Awareness of Ministry of Defence Joint Service Publications (e.g. JSP 440, JSP 604).
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO27000, ISO28000, and NIST Cyber Security Framework.

Qualifications for the Information Security Specialist

  • Relevant higher education qualification or industry certification

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role. However, the successful candidate will be eligible to start on Security Check (SC) security clearance but will need to obtain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance once in post.
