Job description
Your role will be to design, drive, and refine major game systems in a demanding, collaborative, and ambitious environment. Depending on your experience and interests, you may work on key gameplay areas such as: ship 3C systems, enemy AI, puzzles and riddles, and systemic activities., * Define, design, and refine gameplay mechanics through a fast iterative process.
- Regularly prototype and test hands-on to validate ideas and adjustments.
- Collaborate closely with technical, artistic, AI, animation, combat, and leadership teams.
- Present, document, and clearly communicate design intentions.
- Identify gameplay issues and propose concrete, testable solutions.
- Maintain a clear vision and contribute to the overall coherence of the player experience.
Areas of Expertise (Non-Exclusive)
Depending on your profile, you may focus on one or more of the following:
- Enemy NPC AI: Design, prototype, and implement enemy behaviors.
- 3C and Vehicles/Ships: Design, prototype, and implement pilotable ships with special attention to game feel.
- Puzzles and Riddles: Create challenges involving comprehension, manipulation, experimentation, observation, and deduction.
- Systemic Activities: Design emergent gameplay, systemic loops, and interactions within the open world.
Your Future Work Environment
You'll work on an ambitious project facing challenges rarely encountered in the industry, within an experienced, tight-knit, and motivated team., * Quick Prequalification (max 30 min by phone): If your profile matches, you'll have an initial call to validate key points.
- Interview 1 - Discovery (1h, video): A conversation with a recruitment team member to get to know you and assess alignment with our expectations.
- Interview 2 - Technical (1h, video): A discussion with two team members focused on technical aspects to speak the same language.
A technical test may be requested by the team as part of the process.
Requirements
This position requires strong iteration skills, prototyping ability, interdisciplinary communication, and ownership of core elements shaping the player experience., Key Technical Skills:
- Proven experience as a Senior Game Designer on at least one large-scale game (AA or AAA).
- Proficiency with a major game engine or proprietary engine.
- Ability to prototype and iterate quickly.
- Strong understanding of 3D open-world development.
- Solid gaming culture and ability to identify relevant references.
Preferred Assets:
- Experience with AI characters.
- Experience with vehicle 3C.
- Experience designing puzzles and riddles.
- Experience with systemic gameplay and systems design.
