Job description
As a Senior Product Owner for the Contact Services Product, you will manage the comprehensive communication functions that support all outbound engagements with our customers across multiple channels. This covers email, SMS, letters, push notifications, in-app messaging, and innovative communication technologies.
Your mission is to ensure NewDay delivers timely, compliant, personalised, and effective communications that support positive customer outcomes and meet the needs of a regulated credit organisation. You will work across business, compliance, operations, and engineering to develop the roadmap, prioritise delivery, and continually evolve the platform for organisational and customer needs.
What You'll Be Doing
You will hold full accountability for the Contact Services Product, promoting clarity, momentum, and measurable impact across the business:
- Set the vision and roadmap, aligning success measures with business priorities, customer needs, and regulatory expectations.
- Build and evolve the product strategy for communication orchestration, template management, and reliable multi-channel delivery.
- Partner with teams across Credit, Customer Ops, Marketing, Compliance, and Risk to uncover opportunities, difficulties, and capability gaps.
- Translate complex business challenges into clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Prioritise the product backlog using data, insights, and collaborator input to improve value and focus on high-impact work.
- Drive alignment and transparency by communicating progress, risks, and dependencies effectively across teams and senior leadership.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Financial services?, You'll bring the experience needed to lead a communication platform with confidence:
- Proven background as a Product Owner or Product Manager for a platform or service-based product.
- Strong understanding of communication channels (email, SMS, push, letters, app messaging) and the tech behind them.
- Experience operating in a regulated environment, ideally financial services, translating rules into pragmatic product decisions.
- Ability to collaborate with engineering on cloud-based services that operate at scale.
- Excellent collaboration with partners, communication, and prioritisation skills with a strong analytical approach.
Skills & Experience (Desirable)
- Familiarity with Azure cloud services and cloud-native architectures.
- Experience navigating multi-team or complex change environments.
- Understanding of deliverability, sender reputation, and channel optimisation.
- Experience with experimentation frameworks or data-led product iteration.
- Agile qualifications or participation in product/engineering communities.
