Job description
Microchip Technology is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior 2 Test Engineer to join our dynamic MCU32 Microcontrollers team in Nantes. In this role, you will play a critical part in the development of new microcontroller products, ensuring the highest standards of quality and performance. You will collaborate with world-wide cross-functional teams, contribute to innovative test solutions, and help drive the success of our next-generation MCU32 products., * Specify, develop, debug and optimize test programs for new MCU32 microcontroller products, from initial concept through to mass production.
- Contribute to DFT, Design For Test specifications
- Analyze test data, identify root causes of yield and quality issues, and drive corrective actions.
- Collaborate closely with design, product, and manufacturing engineering teams to define test requirements and strategies.
- Support product qualification, characterization, and reliability testing.
- Continuously improve test methodologies to reduce cost, cycle time, and improve test coverage.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
- Prepare technical documentation and reports related to test development and product performance.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in semiconductor test engineering, preferably with microcontrollers or mixed-signal ICs including analog and memory IPs.
- Proficiency in embedded programming languages such as C, C++, or Python.
- Solid understanding of hardware debugging, data analysis, and statistical methods.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills in English and French.
- Strong communication and organizational and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of automated test equipment (ATE) and test program development.
- Experience with Cohu D1X tester is highly appreciated.
- Experience with MCU32 architecture or similar microcontroller families.
- Familiarity with wafer sort and final test processes.
- Knowledge of test cost optimization and yield improvement techniques.
- Experience working in an international, cross-functional team environment.
