Job description
An experienced 3rd Line Support Engineer is required to support and enhance the IT infrastructure of a Birmingham-based organisation. This is a senior, hands-on role focused on resolving complex technical issues and acting as the highest point of escalation. Key Responsibilities
- Act as 3rd line escalation for complex incidents and problems
- Support and maintain infrastructure across servers, networks, cloud, and virtual platforms
- Provide technical guidance to 1st and 2nd line teams
- Ensure systems are secure, resilient, and compliant (NIST, Cyber Essentials)
- Support infrastructure projects and work with third-party suppliers
Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior 3rd line or infrastructure support role
- Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux/Unix, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory
- Experience with cloud platforms (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), networking, and firewalls
- ITIL experience (incident, problem, and change management)
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
