Job description
- Act as a key Solution Architect, driving the definition, implementation, and communication of the Galenica Group's new data architecture.
- Identify opportunities for streamlining and harmonizing solutions, initiating and leading related projects.
- Collaborate closely with Product and Business stakeholders to gather and define both functional and non-functional requirements. Support development teams throughout the DevOps lifecycle, ensuring solutions are aligned with the target enterprise architecture in partnership with Enterprise Architects.
- Champion a culture of cost-consciousness and waste reduction during the design and deployment of modern, cloud-native Data & AI solutions.
- Work within an agile environment using the SAFe framework, adhering to company-wide agile practices and fostering efficient processes. Lead the development of Proofs of Concept (POCs) and Minimum Viable Products (MVPs), scaling successes to production level.
- Embed cost-awareness and efficient resource utilization practices in the design and implementation of modern, cloud-native Data- and AI-solutions.
- Manage assigned tasks within the value stream, ensuring effective coordination and communication with the IT organization, and monitoring solution quality and delivery.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science or a comparable field, complemented by several years of experience in roles such as Solution Architect, Software Architect, Tech Lead, or similar. Previous experience as a software developer in established development environments is a plus.
- Strong expertise in Azure and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), facilitating effective collaboration with development teams. Experience with alternate technology stacks and multi-cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) is beneficial.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing data lakehouse or medallion architectures, and deep understanding of decentralized, domain-driven data architectures such as data mesh, supporting core business processes.
- Experienced in agile methodologies, ideally with SAFe, XP, Kanban, or Lean. Industry background in Healthcare, Retail, or Supply Chain is an asset.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and Azure Databricks (Spark, SQL, KQL, DAX, DBT), including best practices for Power BI implementation.
- Track record of applying principles and frameworks for data governance and data management.
- Passionate about data and analytics, inspiring and motivating colleagues through personal leadership.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and solution-oriented team player with an open mindset and a high degree of personal responsibility.
- Excellent command of English (spoken and written); proficiency in German or French (minimum B2 level) is an advantage.
