Job description
As a Research Manager, you'll lead interdisciplinary R&D programs with top universities such as MIT, Harvard, Berkeley, Stanford and ETH Zurich - advancing foundational research in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Simulation, Processes, and Quantum Computing.
You will drive both collaborative research consortia and your own independent research programs, and you will work closely with international funding bodies, scientific partners, and innovation networks. The results, insights, and technologies you develop will be transferred into industry sectors such as Engineering, Automotive, Aerospace, Energy, Climate & Sustainability, and Health.
What You'll Do
- Lead and manage international research programs across AI, Data Science, Simulation, Processes, and Quantum Computing.
- Build and run multi-partner research consortia with world-leading universities, tech networks, and public funding agencies.
- Identify emerging research opportunities and drive competitive funding proposals (EU & national).
- Advance scientific excellence through publications, methods, algorithms, and novel approaches.
- Represent TWT at major conferences, symposia and scientific panels.
- Mentor exceptional young researchers and foster internal excellence.
- Shape the next generation of simulation-based research and development, including AI-driven and quantum-enhanced modeling approaches., * Collaborate in teams with engineers, scientists, and innovators graduated from world rank top universities e.g. from MIT, Harvard, Berkeley or Oxford.

Requirements
Do you have experience in Research?, Do you have a Doctoral degree?, * PhD or Postdoctoral degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related fields preferably from a top university.
- Proven success in coordinating international and interdisciplinary research programs.
- Strong expertise in AI, data-driven engineering, simulation-based design, or computational processes.
- Experience with EU or national funding programs (Horizon Europe, DFG, BMBF, etc.).
- Fluent in English and German; strong communicator across cultures and disciplines.
- A growth mindset, and a passion for scientific impact.
