Job description
DCSA builds digital standards and products that enable interoperability across the global container shipping ecosystem. Our products are used by all sorts of stakeholders involved in global shipping such as carriers & terminals, to plan, coordinate, and operate complex, time-critical processes.
Designing for this environment is not about delighting consumers with micro-animations, it's about helping professionals make better decisions, faster, in systems they rely on every day.
The role
We are looking for a UX/UI Designer who is deeply curious about user behavior and passionate about designing effective, intuitive interactions for (complex) B2B platforms.
In this role, you will spend as much time needed talking to users and understanding their workflows as you do designing screens. You will work closely with Product Managers and Engineers to translate real user needs into clear interaction models, flows, and interfaces that support efficient, confident use of our products. This role is not about "making things look nice." It is about making complex systems understandable, usable, and valuable.
What you'll do
- Deeply understand how users interact with our platforms by engaging directly with users and other relevant ecosystem participants.
- Conduct and lead user research, interviews, usability testing, and observation to uncover user needs, pain points, and mental models.
- Translate insights into strong interaction design: user journeys, workflows, information architecture, and interaction patterns.
- Design and iterate on wireframes, flows, prototypes, and final UI for desktop- and laptop-based B2B products.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers to shape product discovery and define what should be built, not just how it looks.
- Partner with Engineers to ensure designs are feasible, well understood, and correctly implemented.
- Contribute to and evolve shared design principles, patterns, and standards across DCSA products.
- Clearly articulate design decisions, trade-offs, and rationale to stakeholders.
- Continuously refine designs based on feedback, data, and real-world usage., * This is not a consumer-app design role.
- Experience limited to mobile-first, consumer UX (e.g. retail, food delivery, lifestyle apps) is unlikely to be a good fit.
- This is not a UI-only or pixel-polishing role.
- This is not a front-end development position.
Why this role matters
Our products sit at the heart of operational decision-making for the industry. Good UX directly impacts:
- adoption,
- data quality,
- trust,
- and the overall success of the ecosystem.
As a UX/UI Designer at DCSA, you will have real influence on how global logistics systems are experienced and used every day.
Requirements
Do you have experience in User research?, * Proven experience (5-8 years) as a UX/UI Designer or Product Designer working on B2B platforms or enterprise software.
- Strong interest in user behaviour, interaction, and workflows, not just visual design.
- Hands-on experience conducting user research and usability testing, ideally with professional users.
- A portfolio that demonstrates:
- complex flows and interactions,
- desktop or web-based products,
- clear reasoning behind design decisions.
- Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools (e.g. Figma).
- Comfort working in ambiguity and shaping solutions together with Product and Engineering.
- Strong communication skills and confidence engaging directly with users and stakeholders.
Benefits & conditions
- Once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be part of shaping a global industry.
- A competitive salary.
- Yearly budget for personal development .
