Job description
We're looking for a data specialist to join our team and take an important role in the ownership and evolution of this well-established platform. This role is ideal for someone with a good grounding in SQL with operational experience who wishes to expand their skills into full database management.
Initially, the focus will be on familiarisation, day-to-day management, user support and system development of our SQL Server environment with the opportunity over time to make a significant contribution to architecture, performance tuning, and strategic improvements.
Key activities and responsibilities include:
- Working as part of a supportive, global team under the guidance of experienced leaders familiar with business process and UKGs SQL systems
- Investigating & resolving business critical data and data processing related issues
- Designing, developing and implementing new solutions that help drive business initiatives - delivering enhancements to existing solutions.
- Supporting data consumers and insight shapers across our businesses in the UK and Australia
- Building your knowledge of SQL and our environment in order to grow your influence
Requirements
Do you have experience in T-SQL?, * You have a good working knowledge of SQL Server and T-SQL
- You have a sound understanding of database principles and experience in supporting production data environments
- You have a methodical, logical & detail-oriented approach to problem-solving and enjoy understanding how things work.
- You are tenacious and take ownership of delivering a solution end to end
- You can work well both independently and as part of a team
- You have good attention to detail and take pride in getting things right first time
- You are organised, reliable, and committed to your own development
- You are ready for the challenge of managing business critical data and systems
