Job description
A leading international financial services company is looking for a MS SQL Database Administrator (L3) to join its IT Platform team in Madrid. The selected candidate will be responsible for administering and supporting large-scale, business-critical MS SQL database environments across Europe, ensuring high availability, performance, stability, and reliability for core banking services. What will you do in this role?
- Administer and provide L3 support for large-scale MS SQL Server environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and stability.
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize database performance and capacity in production environments.
- Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes to ensure data integrity.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and incident resolution for critical systems.
- Design, build, and support new database and server architectures.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and global IT teams to support business-critical platforms.
- Work under ITIL methodologies, participating in incident, problem, and change management.
- Contribute to continuous service improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.
Requirements
- Proven experience in MS SQL Server administration (2008R2 to 2019) in enterprise environments.
- Strong expertise in high availability and resilient database architectures.
- Experience providing L3 production support for critical systems.
- Solid background in performance analysis, monitoring, backup, and recovery strategies.
- Experience working in structured, demanding environments with strict service levels.
- Fluent English (B2/C1), spoken and written (mandatory).
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred, not mandatory).
- ITIL Foundation certification is desirable.
