Job description

We are seeking a Digital Transformation Lead for a local authority based in Hackney. This role involves leading a comprehensive programme to implement the Digital Strategy, ensuring effective management and delivery of digital transformation projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing a digital roadmap, managing multi-disciplinary teams, and embedding cultural changes to support digital initiatives.

Day-to-Day of the Role:

  • Lead the implementation of the Digital Strategy, ensuring robust programme and project management to support the delivery of programme benefits.
  • Develop and implement a roadmap for digital transformation, advising and supporting workstream leads and directors.
  • Manage multi-disciplinary project teams to design, deliver, and support digital change across the council.
  • Embed cultural changes necessary for effective digital transformation.
  • Contribute to council-wide initiatives, aligning with the mayor's priorities and corporate objectives to meet the needs of Hackney's residents and businesses.
  • Provide leadership in digital service design and advise at senior and board levels.
  • Manage all aspects of programme and project delivery, including feasibility, business case design, project planning, and benefits realisation.
  • Identify and pilot innovative technology to support service delivery, developing robust business cases for further investment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in leading digital transformation projects within a public sector or similar environment.
  • Strong programme and project management skills, with a track record of delivering complex projects.
  • Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams and working collaboratively across various departments.
  • Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and an agile mindset for rapid project delivery.
  • Ability to manage external suppliers and ensure that solutions meet business needs.
  • Experience in applying and maintaining security controls and managing risks within project environments.
