Lead Solution Architect

I am supporting a major global financial institution undergoing significant technology and architecture transformation. This organisation is modernising its core platforms, strengthening its API ecosystem and investing heavily in secure cloud solutions.

You will be joining a highly influential architecture function with strong visibility across senior leadership, playing a critical role in defining how modern banking services are designed, secured, and delivered.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading solution architecture across complex banking platforms, with a strong focus on APIs, security, and cloud adoption. You'll be involved in:

• Designing and delivering scalable, secure solution architectures aligned to enterprise standards Leading API strategy and design, including RESTful services, OpenAPI standards, and integration patterns Defining workload placement strategies across cloud and on-prem environments Advising senior stakeholders and influencing technology strategy at VP level Leading multi-year initiatives and guiding teams through complex architectural change Coaching and developing less experienced architects and engineers

• Proven experience as a Lead or Senior Solution Architect within banking or financial services Strong background designing and securing RESTful APIs (OpenAPI/Swagger) Ability to navigate legacy systems alongside modern cloud-native architectures Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex technical decisions into business outcomes Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, MQ, or similar) highly desirable Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities
