Job description
The Network Build Engineer will learn how to build, config and support the delivery of our service portfolio which include LAN, MPLS, SD-WAN, VOIP, WAN, Security or combinations of all services., Duties will include, but are not restricted to the following:
- Work with Project Managers, engineers and support to configure and prepare network and security devices
- Requesting equipment from stores, racking, connecting and making ready for remote configuration and/or local configuration of supplied configs
- Basic configuration of routers, AP's and switches
- Repacking devices ready for shipment
- Configuration of VOIP handsets
- Support field engineers with onsite installation support
- Testing of returned/faulty equipment
- Decommission of returned/retired devices
- Working alongside Procurement on the picking and shipment of goods
- Maintaining stock levels of network consumables
- You will ensure accurate updates are provided to relevant internal stakeholders. You will ensure that any risks to delivery are identified, discussed and reported into your line manager.
- You are accountable for the overall quality of your work through governance and validation to ensure that your projects are managed in line with the company's standards, contractual commitments, and ISO accreditations.
- You will often be called on to support and provide general assistance to other project engineers or project managers during times of need.
- You will undertake a structured personal and technical personal training plan as part of your development as agreed with your line manager.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will be a bright and enthusiastic individual who is dedicated to achieving great results, they will ideally have the following skills, attributes, and experience:

- Able to work independently to complete tasks and as part of a wider team.
- Organised approached with the ability to plan out workload and take responsibility for tasks.
- Professional, positive, confident, and friendly.
- Highly self-motivated
They will also preferably have the following skills, attributes, and experience:
- Work experience within an IT or networking business.
- Completed or in progress of a Network related Apprenticeship
- Completed or working towards CCNA level in one or more following areas; Routing and switching, WLAN, Data Centre, Service provider or Security.
Benefits & conditions
The Company's standard working hours are Monday to Thursday 9.00 until 5:30pm with one hour for lunch, and Friday 9.00 until 3:30pm
