At CGI, you'll play a vital role in delivering secure, mission-critical solutions that protect and enable our clients' most important operations. In this role, your work will directly shape how complex applications are deployed, tested, and evolved within a modern containerised environment, helping to reduce risk and accelerate delivery on a high-profile defence programme. You'll join a collaborative team where your ideas are valued, your ownership drives real outcomes, and you're supported to innovate, grow, and make a tangible impact through high-quality engineering and shared success., In this role, you will work closely with CGI colleagues and partner suppliers to deploy a Linux-based container platform and integrate existing application container images into a secure defence environment. You will take ownership of deployment activities, helping to de-risk solutions through hands-on delivery, while contributing to a culture that encourages continuous improvement and shared problem solving.
You will also help evolve manual installation steps into robust, repeatable, and automated processes, ensuring deployments are reliable, maintainable, and scalable. Throughout, you'll be supported by experienced engineers while having the freedom to shape better ways of working.
Key responsibilities include:

Deploy & Integrate containerised application components for testing and assurance

Consolidate & Standardise installation steps into repeatable processes

Automate & Improve deployment workflows using scripts and tooling

Collaborate & Communicate with multi-supplier teams to support successful delivery
Requirements
You will have a solid foundation in Linux and software development, with experience working in collaborative engineering teams. You should be comfortable learning new tools, improving deployment approaches, and contributing ideas to enhance delivery quality within a secure environment., You should have good experience working with Linux systems

Strong software development or scripting experience

Experience with container technologies such as Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes

Proven ability to work effectively within a team and communicate clearly

Willingness to work full-time from CGI's Leatherhead office (5 days per week)

Sole UK nationality with SC Clearance, or eligibility to obtain it
Desirable experience:

Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This position will require being on site 5 days a week in our Leatherhead office.
