Our client is a fast-growing technology company operating in the international education sector. Their SaaS platform supports universities, students, and partner organisations by bringing complex, multi-step processes into a single, collaborative system.

The platform helps institutions reduce administrative burden, improve compliance, and deliver a smoother experience for students starting their studies overseas. How you'll spend your day

As a Junior Developer, you'll join a collaborative engineering team and be supported as you build your skills and confidence in a real-world production environment. This role is designed to give you strong foundations through exposure to testing, automation, and modern software development practices before progressing into feature delivery.

Initially, you will:

  • Build and extend an automated regression test suite to improve platform reliability
  • Write clean, maintainable automated tests covering critical user journeys
  • Support manual testing during sprint cycles where required
  • Gain a deep understanding of the product, codebase, and development workflows

As you grow in the role, you will:

  • Develop new features using TypeScript, React, and Rust
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and senior engineers to deliver high-quality functionality
  • Take part in code reviews and technical discussions
  • Contribute to improving engineering practices and ways of working
  • Gain exposure to cloud infrastructure, primarily within AWS

Requirements

You'll be an enthusiastic early-career developer who's keen to learn, curious about technology, and motivated to grow in a fast-paced environment., * A Computer Science degree (or related field) with evidence of hands-on development (projects, open source, university work), or 12+ months of commercial development experience

  • A strong interest in software engineering and modern development practices
  • Familiarity with at least one programming language such as TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or Rust
  • Basic understanding of web development concepts (APIs, HTML/CSS, databases)
  • Some awareness of cloud technologies, ideally AWS
  • A problem-solving mindset and good attention to detail
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a team
  • A proactive approach to learning and self-development

Nice to have (but not essential):

  • Experience with React or other modern frontend frameworks
  • Exposure to TypeScript
  • Interest in or experience with Rust
  • Familiarity with automated testing tools (Cypress, Playwright, Jest)
  • Understanding of Git and CI/CD pipelines
  • Contributions to open-source projects or a GitHub portfolio, * CSS
