Power BI Developer- D365 Finance and Operations

Our client is seeking Senior Power BI developer with exp in D365 F&O. This is a 6 months contract role outside IR35 in London, UK (Hybrid).

This role is responsible for working within Enterprise Integration and Reporting team and alongside the Finance team, and other business areas. The purpose is to deliver accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting through Power BI predominantly using Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimise, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards that meet finance business needs.
• Work with finance stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into data models and visualisations.
• Connect to, transform, and model data from D365 Finance and Operations and other relevant systems.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reporting outputs.
• Assist in the governance and documentation of BI solutions, including data dictionaries and report inventories.
• Support the rollout of new Power BI capabilities and train users where necessary.
• Collaborate with IT Systems and Finance teams on data improvement initiatives and performance optimisation.

• Multiple years' experience delivering Power BI solutions with hands on experience working with D365 Finance and Operations data sources.
• Track record of delivering impactful and user-friendly reports to non-technical audiences.
• Solid understanding of Power BI, DAX, Power Query, and data modelling best practices.
• Experience working with Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, particularly its finance modules and data structures.
• Strong grasp of financial principles, terminology, and common reporting requirements.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across business and technical teams.
• Familiarity with Azure Data Lake, Synapse, or similar tools (desirable but not essential).
