Job description

  • Collaborate with the Scrum development team to design, implement, and optimise solutions and improvements for FleetCheck software.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code for both front-end and back-end systems with minimal supervision.
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues in existing code.
  • Investigate and resolve customer support issues, providing technical insight and solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices across the team.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and maintain technical documentation.
  • Be flexible, operate as a proactive member of the Scrum team, and contribute to other activities when required.

General accountabilities

  • Act in a courteous, professional, and ethical manner in all interactions with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
  • Advise line manager/management team on matters relating to workload, technical challenges, and work progress.
  • Contribute positively to improvement initiatives and propose innovative solutions.
  • Comply with FleetCheck's values, service levels, policies, and legislative requirements.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driving Licence license?, Do you have experience in Software development?, * 3-5 years of professional experience in software development, ideally with exposure to both front-end and back-end technologies.

  • At least 2+ years of hands-on experience, and strong understanding of:
  • C# .NET Core, MVC, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery.
  • SQL databases and data modelling.
  • Git, GitHub.
  • Experience building and consuming APIs (RESTful services).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Good knowledge of Agile or Scrum methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on moderately complex tasks and contribute to architectural discussions.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with Azure.
  • Experience with front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue).
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.

Benefits & conditions

· Base salary will be in the region of £38,000-42,000k pa.

· The normal contractual working week is 37.5 hours; a standard day is 7.5 hours.

· The work pattern is fixed hours of 9.00am to 5.00pm with 0.5 hour lunch break.

· The annual holiday entitlement based on the above working pattern is 25 days - rising to 28 days with length of service.

· 1 additional days holiday per month on a Friday (FleetCheck Friday), pro rata entitlement for part time employees.

· Contributory pension.

· Staff are able to work in a hybrid pattern with 3 days in the office each week, if agreed with their line manager.

Note that the FleetCheck offices are not serviced by public transport. You will need a full clean driving licence and a car to work here.
