Job description
As a Senior Hardware Engineer, you work within a multidisciplinary project team (mechanical, electrical, and software) on challenging industrial control systems.
During the engineering phase, you actively contribute to defining all components to be controlled, such as sensors and actuators. You take on a leading and advisory role in developing control concepts, including PLC structures and safety solutions.
As the project progresses, you take the lead and provide support where needed during detailed engineering. You monitor the planning and coordinate the logistics surrounding the construction of control cabinets and the integration of the control system into the machine or installation. During functional testing, you work closely with the software department to ensure that the electrical and pneumatic parts of the control system operate fully and correctly.
In this role, you guide (junior) engineers, monitor progress, and review designs and drawings for quality and manufacturability. You collaborate intensively with colleagues from various disciplines to achieve optimal technical solutions. From the project kick-off onward, you are responsible for the quality and efficiency of the engineering process.
Additionally, you actively contribute to the further professionalization of the team by proposing improvements that accelerate processes and enhance quality., * Designing control system installations in EPLAN
- Designing and drawing cabinet layouts and cable routing
- Creating bills of materials and purchase lists, and managing documentation
- Solving design-related issues, such as thermal calculations
- Reporting progress and risks to the Team Lead
- Processing revisions after production and/or assembly
- Working and reporting according to applicable standards and guidelines (including IEC 60204)
- Supporting the assembly department during implementation
- Collaborating with other disciplines to solve (complex) technical challenges
- Contributing to modularity and configurable solutions for our machines

Requirements
Do you have experience in Programmable logic controllers?, For this position, we are looking for a professional with a passion for technology, who can work independently, takes responsibility, and has a strong focus on quality and solutions. You also bring:
- MBO+/HBO level of education in Electrical Engineering
- Knowledge of electrical standards and regulations such as IEC 60204 and IEC 61439
- Knowledge of traditional production-oriented and functional drawing styles, with specific experience in EPLAN P8
- Several years of experience independently designing industrial machines and installations
- Extensive experience creating EPLAN macro-typicals and a vision on standardization
- Experience working with and managing the EPLAN Data Portal
- Broad component knowledge of major brands
- Strong command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written
- The ability to work in a structured and methodical manner
The following skills and knowledge are considered a plus:
- Extensive experience with cable and/or cooling calculations
- Experience with Performance Levels (PL) and applying safety components
- Possession of safety certification
- Knowledge of Ridder ERP
- Knowledge of setting up structures in EPLAN according to IEC 81346
