Job description
The Data Engineer roles at Porsche Engineering Romania are essential to digitalization transformation, providing the technical foundation for AI solutions. Working in a SAFe environment, these roles support digital transformation by designing data models, building reliable data pipelines, and ensuring high data quality.
- You will support data migration from on-premise systems to cloud-based data platforms
- You will assist in the design and implementation of application data models in cloud environments
- You will contribute to data ingestion, transformation, and integration pipelines (batch and near real time)
- You will help adapt existing ETL processes to Azure-native services
- You will support data quality, validation, and lineage activities during migration
- You will contribute to cloud data architecture orchestration under guidance
- You will collaborate with cross-functional and international project teams

Knowledge-Sharing Working with new technologies and employing innovative methodologies has always been a part of our day-to-day operations, therefore knowledge sharing is an essential part of our work culture. Collaboration with Universities and Master's Program On average, our company offers 12 master's thesis topics per year, based on allocation interviews for the top-performing students, and 10 Porsche Engineering scholarships for master's program students with outstanding technical and soft skills. To ensure continuity, our Master curriculum is updated yearly, and only the top 5 bachelor level students are eligible for Porsche Engineering scholarships. For those with a Ph.D., a scholarship for research and development in the AI field is also available.

Based on project demands, we provide internal and external soft and technical skill trainings to meet these requirements.

Requirements
- Ongoing Bachelor's or Master's degree in information technology or an equivalent education
- You have basic understanding of the software development lifecycle, with interest in data pipelines and analytics
- You have programming knowledge in Python (and/or SQL)
- You have good understanding of ETL concepts (extract, transform, load)
- You have an advantage for basic knowledge of Microsoft Azure fundamentals and familiarity with one or more Azure data services, such as: Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks
- You have interest or basic exposure to real-time or event-based ETL pipelines
- You have strong communication and teamwork skills
- You speak English fluently; knowledge of German is considered a plus
