Job description

The Data Steward in the Demand Data team manages critical data across Petcare markets, encompassing pets, pet owners, consumers, marketing, and sales. Working in partnership with data stewards and data leads across Mars Petcare you will organize and monitor business data throughout its lifecycle and implement data governance policies, practices and tools to ensure data is accurate, complete, available and usable. Success means delivering the right data to users precisely when they need it, ensuring it matches their specific use case and supports our business strategy. What are we looking for? Data privacy: Knowledge of and experience working with relevant data protection and privacy regulations e.g. GDPR Data modelling: Strong understanding of data modelling principles, with hands-on experience in designing, creating, and maintaining data models. Data governance tools: Proficiency with data governance platforms such as Collibra, Informatica Axon, and Microsoft Purview for managing governance processes, policies, and metadata. Data profiling: Expertise in using data profiling tools to analyze data quality, detect anomalies, and assess completeness, consistency, and accuracy. Data integration: In-depth knowledge of data integration techniques and tools to enable seamless data flow across systems, ensuring data consistency and accessibility. Data security: Strong grasp of data security best practices, including encryption, role-based access control (RBAC), and compliance with data protection regulations. Data quality management: Experience with data quality tools such as Informatica Data Quality and IBM InfoSphere Information Analyzer to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and reliability. Data visualization: Familiarity with visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI, with the ability to create insightful dashboards and reports for data analysis. What will be your key responsibilities? Data asset management - ensuring organized, efficient and effective management of data assets Data mapping and lifecycle management - from data collection through to deletion including storage, sharing and usage to maximise data value Data lineage management - understanding and recording the flow of data throughout the business (origin, transformations, movement, usage) Identifying and partnering with key stakeholders across the business to identify and understand data requirements Ensuring adherence to internal and external data privacy policies and regulations e.g. GDPR Data governance implementation to ensure data quality, integrity and consistency across Mars Petcare Identifying data issues and discrepancies and recommending solutions and enhancements What can you expect from Mars?
