Join Axpo Services EMEA S.L. as a Data Engineer and play a key role in the newly established G&D Digital & Data Team. This is your opportunity to work on impactful initiatives, develop modern data products, and contribute to the modernization of the G&D data landscape using the Axpo Group Data Platform (Databricks). What you will do:

Data Product Development:
-
Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to understand data sources and requirements.

Contribute to the development of reusable G&D data products across multiple data domains.

Support the publication of trusted datasets for reporting, BI, and analytics.

Work closely with the Senior Data Engineer / Data Architect and other team members.

Data Engineering:
-
Develop, test, and operate data pipelines on Databricks using Python (PySpark) and SQL.

Transform raw source data into curated, business-ready datasets based on agreed data models.

Support ingestion of data from ERP systems, business applications, and operational systems.

Data Quality & Reliability:
-
Implement data quality rules, checks, and monitoring within Python-based data pipelines.

Document datasets, transformations, and assumptions.

Support incident analysis and continuous improvement of data pipelines.
Requirements
Several years of experience in data engineering or a closely related technical role.

Hands-on experience with Databricks or comparable data platforms.

Proficiency in Python for data engineering, including PySpark-based data pipelines.

Good knowledge of SQL and data transformation concepts.

Experience with Git-based version control (e.g., GitHub or similar).

Interest in building reusable, high-quality data products.

Preferred qualifications:

Professional experience with Databricks in a productive environment.

Familiarity with Delta Lake and data modeling.

Basic experience consuming APIs (e.g., REST) as data sources.

Experience in the energy sector.

Ability to coordinate across teams and work independently.

Languages:

English (required).

German (a plus).
