As a Global Data Governance Officer, you will act at the core of AXA's data & AI transformation, managing the portfolio of Global Data Products on the Global Data Platform, bringing together stakeholders from various backgrounds and levels. This is a real opportunity to deliver strategic impact, in an innovative and fast-paced environment, and progress by-the-way standards, frameworks & tools to help entities in their local data products & platforms., As a Global Data Governance Officer, your main objective is run the Global Data Governance, bringing together Business, Data & IT stakeholders from Group & Entities, managing the Global Data Product portfolio and related data quality, supporting Data Product Owners in the Data Product Lifecycle & Deployment with best practices, frameworks and standards to develop, relying on Data Architecture & Information Management experts and on local data governance., * Set-up and manage the Global Data Product Portfolio, understanding strategic data needs for AXA and act proactively to enrich it, prioritizing value creation for business, increasing business ownership, data quality & data sharing at scale, easing interactions between Group & Entities;

Identify, manage and prioritize the backlog of requirements for tech enablers on the Global Data Platform, notably data governance enablers (Data Catalog/Marketplace, metadata management for a computational data governance), workspaces enablement, sources ingestion, data tools, etc.;

Manage the Global Data Usages Committee, bringing together domain owners and business stakeholders at Group level, data officers from Entities, managing the Global Data Product portfolio, datalab & data product lifecycles, domain creation and data sharing between domains;

Follow & support the Global Data Product Lifecycle & Deployment, supporting business, data & IT stakeholders on their journey; ensuring completeness of pre-requisites, key deliverables, fundings, stakeholders appointment; building templates & tools, providing frameworks and standards;

Organizing and enabling the certification of trusted data products (including documentation in corresponding tools), relying on the Data Architecture & Information Management experts;

Ensure visibility, search and access to Global Data Products in Data Catalog/Marketplace for relevant and authorized users, facilitating data sharing across the Group;

In collaboration with the Group Data Office Team for data architecture, data management, data & AI governance, unstructured data expertise (not exhaustive);
As of February 2026:

The Global Data Product portfolio has been set-up around several initiatives. 2026 will be focus on Risk Management and Finance domains with some design activities being completed;

The backlog of the Global Data Platform tech enablers have been initiated; the low-level design of the Data Catalog/Marketplace has been defined;

The target operating model of the Global Data Platform and the Global Data Usages Committee has been defined, Within Group Operations, the Group Data AI and Innovation (GDAI) team explores and scales the value of data, AI, and emerging technologies with the potential to disrupt the current insurance business model and to shape future opportunities in order to better partner in our customers' lives.
The department
The Group Data Department brings leadership, expertise and community management in 4 domains:

Data & AI Strategy, as the overarching umbrella, through governance involving Chief Data & Analytics Officers, Business Leaders, COO/CIOs, Compliance/Risk/Security;

Data & AI Adoption, through a collaboration with the HR and Communication functions as well as Business Leaders, leveraging the community of local Heads of Data Adoption;

Information Management, covering information management frameworks & CoE, leveraging the local Heads of Data Management Offices; evolving to integrate AI and Generative AI and a growing usage of unstructured data;

Data Products & Platforms, covering the design & delivery of data products & platforms across AXA, covering data architecture frameworks & CoE, leveraging the local Data Architects, evolving to integrate unstructured data storage and processing.
The team
Within the Group Data Department, the Data Products & Platforms Team drives AXA's transformation towards the deployment of data products in self-service data platforms to simplify the deployment of analytics use cases, and accelerate AI innovation, in a data mesh approach to ease data interactions between Group & Entities without centralizing local data platforms. The main missions of the Team are:

Support business value creation, bringing both global & local data products to life on global priorities

Set-up a global governance, managing the data products portfolio & lifecycle on global priorities, increasing business ownership, data quality & data sharing at scale, easing interactions between Group & Entities

Lead the execution of major transversal data programs (Customer 360)
-
Support the design & delivery of (global) data products to support business initiatives on global priorities
-
Monitor & ensure data availability & accessibility for AI at local & group level

Build & maintain a future-proof self-service Global Data Platform:

Enabling Entities & Business autonomy, while ensuring standards for interoperability
-
Including a Marketplace to enable search & access to data products for re-use & sharing across AXA
-
Aligning with AXA & market evolving standards for data & AI innovation
-
Ensure AXA's data architecture readiness for Business & AI transformation
-
Define/contribute to the design of common frameworks/standards with Entities, and monitor Entities' adoption & progress

Ensure knowledge sharing through the Data Architecture Community, and external communities (TOGAF, CC CDQ, etc.)
Requirements
-
At least 10 years of proven experience in data transformation in large organizations with hands-on experience in the operational design & implementation of analytics use cases and related data products (must-have);

At least 5 years of proven experience in Portfolio and Project management, including management of both C-levels and operational business, data and IT stakeholders (must-have);

Good general knowledge of data management (data quality, unstructured data, etc.), data products and data mesh concepts (must-have);

Good general understanding of data platforms, data exchanges (incl. APIs), data catalog/marketplace, data tools, etc. (must-have);
-
Good general knowledge of data regulations & security (must-have);
-
Good general understanding of AI lifecycle/engineering (nice-to-have).
Soft skills / transversal skills

Good communicator, able to federate, ease collaboration and coordinate a network of stakeholders from various backgrounds and levels (CDAOs, CTOs, business leaders, project managers/product owners, data architects, data managers, platform owners, etc.;

Ability and eagerness to understand strategy and business usages;

Organizational and structuration skills, and rigor in execution; strong sense of priorities;

Intellectual curiosity, proactivity and ability to work autonomously in a complex organization, Team spirit in a multi-cultural work environment;

Ability to see/formalize the big picture as well as deep dive into details when necessary;

Experience or good knowledge of the insurance value chain would be a plus

English fluent in both speaking and writing; French speaker is a plus.
