Data Analyst

Analyze, validate, and interpret data to support business decisions, improve performance, and deliver clear, actionable insights to stakeholders., * Collect, clean, and transform data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and consistency.

• Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and KPI tracking to monitor business performance.
• Perform exploratory analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for optimization.
• Develop and document data models, metrics definitions, and reporting logic for repeatability.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business questions into analytical approaches.
• Communicate findings through concise narratives, visualizations, and recommendations.
• Support data governance by enforcing data quality checks and standard processes., Timely, accurate reporting; measurable business impact from insights; strong data quality; and stakeholder adoption of dashboards and recommendations., * Translating requirements and mapping Payments data for Financial Reporting, marketing and business insights
• Creating and improving dashboards and reports
• Supporting Data Engineers in building and testing reports and dashboards
• Evaluating data quality and dashboards and explaining outcomes to end-users
• Working closely with various teams within NN Bank Payments, Finance, Tax & Legal for reporting deliveries to the Dutch Central Bank and the Tax Authorities
• Following NN Bank's Data Governance & Data Quality Management policy

• Analytics: statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, KPI design, root-cause analysis.
• Tools: SQL, spreadsheets, and BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
• Data preparation: ETL concepts, data validation, and data cleaning best practices.
• Communication: stakeholder management, clear documentation, and presentation skills.
• Problem solving: ability to prioritize, structure ambiguous questions, and deliver results., * A completed HBO or WO (Bachelor's or Master's) degree in Data Analytics/Data Science, Econometrics, IT or Finance, combined with at least 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in an international environment
• Knowledge of Azure components such as DeltaLake, ADF and Databricks; experience with CI/CD, Azure DevOps, scripting in Python (PySpark), and Agile methodologies such as DevOps and Scrum
• Strong analytical and logical skills, with extensive experience in writing complex SQL and Python queries and processing structured data
• Proven knowledge and experience with data analysis methods and applying them within business processes
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Affinity with financial reporting is a plus, including the ability to clearly translate complex analyses into insights for stakeholders at different levels
• A proactive mindset, with attention to detail as well as an overview of the bigger picture and business context; a team-oriented attitude to challenge each other on complex analyses, reporting and advice
• Experience within the banking or mortgage domain is a strong advantage

Your insights and analyses contribute to increasing customer focus and data-driven actions at NN Bank, and help us realize the greatest customer journey improvements and cost savings., The NN Payments domain consists of over 100 colleagues across various teams, including the Payments Data Lake team. This team is responsible for delivering data for Financial Reporting, Marketing and Business Insights. You will work closely with two engineers and a Product Owner.
