Job description
- Provide first-line technical support to end users (hardware, software, and network issues)
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers and mobile devices
- Assist with user account setup, password resets, and access management
- Troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues (LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN)
- Support common operating systems and applications (Windows, macOS, Microsoft 365, etc.)
- Log, track, and resolve support tickets in a timely manner
- Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff when required
- Assist with system updates, backups, and security procedures
- Follow company IT policies and best practices
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driving License license?, Do you have experience in Microsoft Word?, Do you have a GCSE?, We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior IT Technician to join our IT support team. The successful candidate will assist in maintaining computer systems, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing first-line support to users. This role is ideal for someone starting their career in IT and looking to develop hands-on technical skills.
The hours are 8am-4pm, Monday to Friday, all year round. This role will work across all Five Acre Wood School sites (in and around Maidstone and Snodland) and may require occasional after-hours or on-call support. Therefore, a clean driving licence is essential., * Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and operating systems
- Familiarity with Windows and/or macOS environments
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn new technologies
- Relevant IT qualification, diploma, or certification (or currently studying)
Preferred Qualifications (Optional)
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certification
- Experience with helpdesk or customer support roles
- Basic knowledge of Active Directory or Microsoft 365
