Job description

To perform safe and efficient running of test activities in the facility. With a particular focus on NVH testing of exhaust systems, engine components and electric powertrains.

Support the departmental manager / Senior Test Engineer to drive technical and process improvements.

Set up of test rigs to acquire data in a reliable & repeatable fashion.

Processing and analysing test data, writing reports to customer requirements.

Ensure customers test procedures are followed and internal procedures or specifications are updated where necessary.

Support continuous improvement in the department towards a 'smarter, not harder' way of working.

Investigate and report test results / test failures in a timely manner.

Ensure all activities carried out are ethical, meet H&S regulations and comply with Company procedures.

Ensure your area of responsibility complies with the Environmental Management System.

Carry out preventative maintenance tasks as identified on 'Monthly Maintenance Tracker.', Cycle 2 work scheme (As long as minimum requirements are met)

Requirements

Do you have experience in Microsoft PowerPoint?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, Test experience - work experience in similar automotive engineering environment. Knowledge of test systems & procedures with examples of a good problem solving ability. Experience of Siemens TestLab is preferable but not essential. Good working knowledge of Excel and Powerpoint and have high attention to detail to ensure quality or work.

Minimum requirements: Ability to communicate clearly & appropriately. Work effectively in a team and as an individual. High level of PC (MS Office) skills.

Preferred Skills: Previous experience of engine / vehicle testing. With an appreciation / understanding of the basics of emissions testing. Previous experience of communicating directly with Internal & External customers on a daily basis.

Desirable Skills: Experience of using Siemens TestLab & NVH testing would be advantageous. Proven track record of working in an automotive engine testing environment. Evidence of continual personal & professional development.

Education: BEng / BSc (Hons). Preferably in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engi
