Tasks

• Lead the IT-Security team, integrating external specialists as needed.
• Develop and enhance IT-Security strategies within the organization.
• Advise on information security and drive security initiatives proactively., * Leading the IT Services security team currently consisting of three employees as well as integrating external specialists.
• Strategic and operational further development of IT security within ITS.
• Advising IT Services and the university on information security issues and actively, solution-oriented advancing security concerns.
• Technical leadership of the external Security Operations Center (SOC) and coordination of collaboration.
• Analysis and handling of security incidents and initiation of appropriate protective measures.
• Responsibility as client for technical and organizational security measures within ITS and accompanying their implementation in close coordination with the specialist teams.
• Conducting internal security reviews, participating in audits, and acting as local data protection contact person in coordination with the central data protection office.
• Representing security concerns in strategic and operational committees and close cooperation with the university CISO.

• Several years of experience in IT-Security and knowledge of standards.
• Strong understanding of complex IT environments and security implementation.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration and relationship building., In this leadership role, you act reliably at all times and also act thoughtfully under tight deadlines and in demanding project phases.
• Several years of experience in IT security / information security and sound knowledge of common standards and practices (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, incident response, vulnerability management, risk assessment).
• Deep understanding of complex IT environments as well as practical and scalable implementation of security requirements.
• You navigate confidently between staff function and operational line and know how to be effective in a heterogeneous organization.
• Clear prioritization, structured approach, and ability to reduce complexity.
• Focus on pragmatic, implementable solutions rather than theoretical ideals.
• You communicate clearly, precisely, and appropriately for the audience and build sustainable relationships with internal and external partners.
• You understand university or public structures and bring experience in achieving sustainable impact even with limited resources.
• Ability to create a motivating environment for security topics and to purposefully deploy existing competencies within the team.
