What you'll build

In this role, your contributions will be relied upon to the continued success of the Broadcast Technologies team, our platforms, and global service offering.

• Build, scale, optimize, and administer SAP's live streaming infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in real-time to minimize downtime and ensure secure, seamless streaming.
• Collaborate with global engineering and operations teams to design and implement scalable, secure solutions.
• Automate operational tasks using scripting (Python, Bash) and CI/CD pipelines (Github, Azure DevOps).
• Work with key technologies such as AWS Elemental (Media Connect, MediaLive, MediaPackage), Akamai CDN, Vbrick, and Azure DevOps.
• Ensure compliance with security best practices (TLS, encryption, OWASP guidelines) for live streaming workflows, renew and exchange SSL Certificates.

Your work directly impacts SAP's ability to deliver secure, reliable live events and executive communications to substantial global audiences!

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 4+ years of experience in live streaming infrastructure, systems engineering, DevOps, or SRE, Linux administration.
• Strong knowledge of live video workflows (encoding, packaging, CDN delivery), secure streaming protocols (RTMP, HLS, SRT), and experience with AWS Elemental, Akamai, Vbrick, or similar technologies.
• Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash), automation, and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, etc.), containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and secure deployment practices.
• Deep understanding of networking (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS) and TLS/SSL encryption, with hands-on experience troubleshooting CDN optimization and implementing secure configurations.
• Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or AWS Certified Security - Specialty, with understanding of OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and secure coding practices.
• Proven experience in 24/7 production environments supporting live events, with strong problem-solving skills focused on operational reliability and security incident response.
