Job description

Rijkswaterstaat is the executive agency of the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management. The organization is committed to ensuring a safe, livable, and accessible Netherlands through the development and maintenance of infrastructure, including roads and waterways., As a Technical Advisor in Data and Information Management, you play a critical role in infrastructure projects by ensuring the availability, quality, and proper use of data throughout the entire project lifecycle.

You will contribute to the efficient execution of projects by ensuring that accurate area data is available from initiation through to completion, enabling seamless project delivery and effective transfer of management information., * Collect, analyze, and process project-related data

  • Develop and define functional specifications for data and information management
  • Ensure compliance with data management frameworks and translate them into project-specific applications
  • Embed data requirements into contract specifications
  • Review and validate deliverables against agreed requirements
  • Document findings, prepare reports, and assess delivery and handover documentation
  • Identify risks, deviations, and propose appropriate solutions
  • Act as a subject matter expert and key point of contact within the project team
  • Collaborate closely with contractors and internal stakeholders
  • Evaluate outsourced work both technically and in terms of content
  • Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement of processes, standards, and frameworks
  • Support knowledge sharing and contribute to the professional development of the field

Project Context

You will be part of the Projects, Programmes and Maintenance (PPO) department, specifically within the Zee en Delta (ZD) Waterways team. This team is responsible for overseeing maintenance activities across waterways, including civil, mechanical, electrical, and industrial automation components.

A key aspect of the role involves managing data flows between project phases and ensuring proper integration into Rijkswaterstaat's management systems.

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in data management and asset management
  • Knowledge of relevant information systems, including Meridian
  • At least 1 year of recent experience managing data and data flows within integrated contract forms (UAV-gc), * Experience with the Rijkswaterstaat Work Guide (RWS Work Guide)
  • Experience in technology and information management within execution projects
  • Knowledge of wet infrastructure within the main water system
  • Experience in implementing and improving working methods within project teams
  • Demonstrated alignment with competencies and skills outlined above
