Job description
We are currently working with a consultancy supporting a major programme that requires an experienced SharePoint Architect / Consultant to help deliver a migration away from Microsoft Project Online into a new SharePoint Server Subscription Edition (PSSE) and Project Server Subscription Edition (PSSE) environment.
This role is a fully remote contract role, however due to the nature of the work candidates must hold active SC clearance and be based in the UK.
The Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and establishing the architecture for a new SharePoint and Project Server environment, working closely with internal IT teams, security stakeholders and PMO leadership.
You will be responsible for defining the technical architecture, implementing the environment, and ensuring the platform is designed to support performance, security and long-term operational ownership.
This is a hands-on architecture role combining technical design, environment implementation and stakeholder engagement., * Design the target SharePoint Server Subscription Edition and Project Server Subscription Edition architecture
- Define and implement the SharePoint farm topology and supporting services
- Architect and configure the Project Server environment and PWA configuration
- Design the SQL Server architecture including high availability and disaster recovery considerations
- Support infrastructure discussions including virtualised environments and Azure SQL integrations
- Lead or support the installation, configuration and validation of the SharePoint and Project Server environments
- Configure authentication, service accounts, permissions and SSL certificates
- Provide technical input on Power BI Gateway and Power Automate Data Gateway integrations
- Develop documentation to support platform build, configuration and operational handover
- Work collaboratively with security, infrastructure and PMO teams, * A fully designed SharePoint and Project Server architecture
- A deployed and operational PSSE environment
- Complete technical documentation and build artefacts
- Architecture recommendations to support future platform development

Requirements
- Strong experience working as a SharePoint Architect or Consultant
- Proven experience designing and implementing SharePoint Server environments
- Experience working with Project Server / Project Web App (PWA)
- Azure Managed SQL
- Strong knowledge of SharePoint Server Subscription Edition
- Experience designing SQL Server architecture including HA/DR considerations
- Understanding of identity and authentication (Active Directory / hybrid identity)
- Experience configuring enterprise SharePoint environments
- Strong technical documentation and architecture design skills
Desirable:
- Experience integrating Power BI Gateway or Power Automate Data Gateway
- Experience working within secure or regulated environments
Security Requirements:
Due to the nature of the programme, candidates must hold active SC clearance and be eligible to work in the UK.

£500 - £520 per day
