Role Overview
The Solution Enterprise Architect will lead the design and governance of AWS cloud solutions within a major public sector environment. The role requires strong architectural expertise, stakeholder engagement and the ability to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable cloud solutions aligned with organisational standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Architecture & Design
- Design end-to-end AWS cloud solutions aligned with business, security, and operational requirements.
- Produce high-level and low-level architectural documentation (HLDs, LLDs, diagrams, patterns, standards).
- Apply the AWS Well-Architected Framework ensuring solutions meet security, reliability, scalability, cost optimisation, and operational excellence principles.
- Select appropriate AWS services and define integration patterns across compute, storage, networking, data, and application services.
Required Experience
- Proven background in engineering and software architecture design.
- AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification
- Strong knowledge of AWS services and architecture patterns.
- Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage risks and deliver within time and resource constraints.
Desired Experience
- AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification.
- Familiarity with database and data architecture principles.
- Expertise in SOA & REST/RESTful services.
- Knowledge of application principles and microservices architecture.
- Experience with Agile and DevOps frameworks.
