Job description
As a Junior Developer, you'll support the development of our customer-facing insurance journeys, internal systems, and integrations with external partners. You'll work closely with our experienced full-stack developer, contributing to both frontend and backend tasks in a supportive environment designed to help you grow., * Develop new user-facing features within existing systems
- Build well structured HTML, CSS and JavaScript code
- Work with React components and support component based development
- Collaborate with internal and external resources to improve and maintain current systems
- Support UI/UX improvements across customer journeys and customer portals
- Assist the full stack developer with various frontend, backend, and integration tasks
Requirements
Do you have experience in Software development?, * Understanding of JavaScript frameworks
- SQL or NoSQL fundamentals
- Introductory knowledge of React
- Basic familiarity with AWS concepts
- Experience with version control/source control (Git/GitHub)
Desirable:
- Exposure to full-stack development concepts (frontend and backend)
- Experience with Node.js, APIs, or backend services
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and system integrations
- Awareness of security and data protection best practices in web applications
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines or deployment workflows
- Exposure to cloud services such as AWS (S3, Lambda, etc.)
- Experience working in an Agile or Scrum development environment
- Awareness of FCA Conduct Rules or experience working in a regulated industry, * Relevant experience, education, or training in software development, web development, or a related technical field
- Practical experience building web applications or contributing to development projects (professional, freelance, or personal projects)
- Demonstrable understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript fundamentals
Desirable:
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Web Development, or a related discipline (not essential if practical experience is strong)
- Completion of relevant technical courses, bootcamps, or certifications (e.g. Udemy, freeCodeCamp, Codecademy, AWS Cloud Practitioner, or similar)
- Personal or portfolio projects demonstrating web development skills
- Experience contributing to collaborative codebases using Git
