Job description

We're looking for a Junior AI Engineer to join a growing technical team and contribute to the development of AI-driven platforms in a biotech and health-focused environment.

This role is hands-on and technical, offering exposure to large biological datasets, AI model development, and modern machine learning workflows, including work with LLMs and data-centric AI systems.

You'll work closely with senior engineers, data scientists, and domain experts across biology and healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, clean, and maintain AI-ready datasets, working with large-scale biological and medical data
  • Support the development and optimisation of machine learning and LLM-based systems
  • Assist in designing and improving data pipelines for structured and unstructured biomedical data
  • Contribute to experimentation, testing, and validation of AI models

Requirements

  • Degree in a relevant STEM subject (e.g. Biomedical Science, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Medicine, Health Sciences, or a closely related field).
  • Strong interest in AI applied to biotech, healthcare, or medical data
  • Solid programming experience (e.g. Python)
  • Exposure to LLMs, NLP, or generative AI
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts and data processing
  • Experience working with large datasets (academic, research, or commercial)
  • Comfortable working in a remote, collaborative environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience with biological, clinical, or health-related datasets
  • Knowledge of ML frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms or data engineering tools
