Data Centre Engineer

• Support the daily operation of the data centre, ensuring uptime, security, and efficiency
• Monitor BMS and infrastructure systems, responding to alerts and incidents
• Manage and resolve tickets via helpdesk systems, including change requests and incidents
• Provide remote hands support, including rack installs, hardware deployments, and cabling
• Install and manage structured cabling and cross-connects
• Work with third-party suppliers across facilities and technical services
• Assist with deliveries, logistics, and on-site inventory management

• Minimum 2+ years experience working in a data centre environment
• Strong understanding of server hardware, structured cabling, and physical infrastructure
• Experience using helpdesk or ticketing systems
• Good knowledge of IT infrastructure and basic networking concepts
• Familiarity with BMS systems and monitoring tools
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality, client-facing support
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, organised approach
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, SharePoint)

Desirable

• Understanding of data centre best practices and operations
• Experience in cabling design and deployment
• Knowledge of networking, switching, and routing
• Exposure to power, cooling systems, and data centre SLAs

Additional Information

• Must be able to commute to Farnborough (site-based role)
• Participation in an on-call rota (1 in 3 weeks) required
