Job description

As a Junior Front-End Developer, you'll help build high-quality web applications using React and TypeScript, improve existing features, and learn how to deliver secure, accessible, well-tested software. You'll work closely with designers, developers, and product specialists to support the delivery of important public-facing digital services.

What you'll be doing:

  • Helping build and maintain web applications using React + TypeScript
  • Writing clean, accessible, and responsive HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Working in an agile team alongside designers, engineers, and product specialists
  • Integrating front-end components with APIs
  • Contributing to code reviews and learning good engineering practices
  • Writing unit tests and learning modern testing tools
  • Supporting continuous improvement across the team and learning new skills
  • Getting hands-on experience with cloud technologies and CI/CD pipelines

What you'll learn and develop experience in:

  • Building secure and scalable front-end solutions
  • Working with modern frameworks and reusable components
  • Understanding performance, accessibility, and good UI/UX principles
  • Improving engineering processes and contributing ideas
  • Collaborating in a supportive, modern development environment

Requirements

  • Good understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Some experience with React (commercial or self-taught)
  • Willingness to learn TypeScript and modern engineering practices
  • Basic understanding of API integration
  • Interest in writing clean, testable code
  • A positive attitude, curiosity, and a desire to grow as a developer

Nice to have (but not essential):

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.G., AWS, Azure)
  • Experience with unit testing (Jest or similar)
  • Exposure to CI/CD or version control tools like Git
  • Interest in modern tooling, accessibility, and UI performance
