DevSecOps Engineers - Mid to Lead LevelLocation: LondonType: PermanentWorking Pattern: 4xFlex, 37.5 hours per weekWe are currently working with a client in the Defence and Security sector who are expanding their London-based team and are looking to hire DevSecOps Engineers with a strong focus on Infrastructure Engineering, across mid to lead level.This opportunity supports a range of programmes across the Defence, Cyber and Intelligence domains, delivering secure, scalable and high-performing infrastructure solutions within mission-critical environments.A key requirement for this position is the ability to obtain and maintain high-level security clearance. If you do not currently hold this, support will be provided throughout the application process.The Role:As a DevSecOps Engineer with an Infrastructure Engineering focus, you will play a central role in the design, integration, administration and security of systems and applications. You will be responsible for building and maintaining scalable, reliable and secure infrastructure, ensuring it supports complex and evolving technical environments.You will work within a multi-disciplined team, collaborating across engineering and delivery functions to integrate and deploy features effectively. Depending on your level of experience, you will either contribute to infrastructure delivery (mid-level) or take on additional responsibility for technical ownership, decision-making and guiding engineering activities (lead level).This role spans the full systems lifecycle, offering exposure to architecture, design, deployment, support, migration and decommissioning activities. You will also have the opportunity to work across Public, Private and Hybrid Cloud environments, helping to optimise performance, scalability and security.Key Responsibilities:Design, build, deploy and manage a broad range of IT infrastructure aligned to customer requirementsApply infrastructure engineering best practices to ensure systems are scalable, reliable and secureDevelop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and supporting scripts, integrating these into CI/CD pipelines and wider toolchainsDrive automation and repeatability across infrastructure deployments and system integrationDeliver full end-to-end systems lifecycle management, from initial architecture and design through to deployment, support, migration and decommissioningSupport the integration and delivery of large and complex solutions within wider system-of-systems environmentsContribute to integration, testing and deployment activities to ensure optimal performance and reliabilityUndertake deployments across Public, Private and Hybrid Cloud environments, identifying constraints and optimising infrastructure performance and securityCollaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure successful delivery of infrastructure solutions within DevSecOps frameworksSkills & Experience:Strong experience within DevSecOps environments, working within Agile methodologies (SCRUM, Sprints)Experience using tools such as Jira and Confluence for planning and collaborationProficiency in Windows and Linux systems administration, including technologies such as Active DirectoryExperience with virtualisation technologies and concepts, including VMware vSphere, ARIA Ops performance monitoring and NSX (software-defined networking)Experience configuring and managing web proxy servers (e.G. Squid)Strong experience with automation technologies including Terraform, Ansible and Packer for complex buildsExperience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.G. Jenkins)Understanding of Git-based version control (Git, Bitbucket, GitLab), including integration and branching strategiesKnowledge of containerisation technologies such as Docker and KubernetesExperience with scripting languages including PowerShell and BashExperience using PythonSolid understanding of networking fundamentals, including IPv4 addressing and routingExperience with logging and monitoring tools such as Zabbix and SplunkUnderstanding of cloud technologies and concepts, particularly AWSCertification (Desirable):AWS Certification / CCNA Certification / Oracle Java Certification / ISTQB Certification / OSCP Certification / Linux Administration (RHCSA or RHCE) / Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate / Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation (EX407) / Terraform / Associate CertificationPLEASE NOTE: eDV clearance is required to start.
