We are looking for an experienced Senior QA Engineer to join our team in Glasgow. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and release readiness of PACE Anti-Piracy products and supporting systems. You will work closely with engineering and product teams throughout the software development lifecycle, helping to define test strategy, execute validation activities, improve test coverage, and expand our automation capabilities.This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled QA professional who enjoys working across a diverse technical landscape, including desktop applications, APIs, developer tools, installers, services, and web-based platforms.Key ResponsibilitiesTesting and ValidationExecute functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing across PACE Anti-Piracy products and related systemsValidate SDK features along with software licensing, protection, enforcement, and activation workflows across supported environmentsTest desktop applications, background services, APIs, SDKs, sample integrations, installers, and associated web experiencesIdentify, document, and track defects through to resolution, working closely with engineering teams to support timely fixes and retestingAssess overall product quality and highlight risks, gaps, and release concerns clearly to stakeholdersTest Planning and Quality ManagementDevelop and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test execution records aligned with product requirements and release objectivesMaintain a structured test case repository with strong traceability from requirements through to execution and defect resolutionMonitor test coverage and contribute to clear quality reporting for engineering, product, and leadership stakeholdersTest Automation and Continuous TestingIdentify high-value opportunities for test automation across product areasEvaluate, recommend, and implement appropriate automation tools, frameworks, and approachesDevelop and maintain automated test suites to improve coverage, efficiency, and repeatabilityContribute to the design and implementation of continuous testing within the CI/CD pipeline, with the goal of validating every build wherever practicalCollaboration and Process ImprovementParticipate actively in Agile and Scrum ceremonies, including planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectivesWork collaboratively with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure quality is considered throughout the development processChampion best practices in QA, test design, defect management, and release validationHelp improve QA processes, tooling, and methodologies as the team and product portfolio continue to growSkills and ExperienceSignificant experience in a software QA or test engineering roleStrong experience of manual testing across complex software systemsExperience testing desktop applications, APIs, services, installers, and web applicationsExperience creating test plans, test cases, and structured quality documentationExperience with defect tracking and test management toolsStrong understanding of software development lifecycles, release processes, and Agile delivery methodsExperience building or contributing to automated test frameworks and CI/CD-integrated testingExcellent analytical skills and attention to detailStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teamsDesirableExperience working with developer tools, SDKs, or technical B2B software productsExperience testing licensing, security, software protection, or low-level system componentsFamiliarity with Windows and macOS testing environmentsExperience with scripting or programming for test automationUnderstanding of installer validation, system service testing, and end-to-end integration testing Similar jobs, Role: Software Engineer (React/TypeScript) Active SC Required Location: Ipswich (5 Days On-site) Start Date: ASAP Clearance: Active SC Required The Project We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to modernize and re-write core applications.
