Job description

The IT Manager is responsible for leading the IT function to ensure effective delivery, support and strategic development of IT services across the organisation. The postholder will manage a team who is focused on optimising the use of Microsoft 365 and SaaS platforms to enhance productivity, security and digital transformation. They will provide technical management expertise and operational oversight to companies infrastructure, systems and networks; and develop effective working relationships with internal colleagues and external stakeholders, Technical Management

  • Oversee the planning, implementation and maintenance of IT systems/networks

  • Administration and optimisation of Microsoft 365 services.

  • Manage SaaS applications including licensing, integration, and vendor relationships.

  • Ensure robust cybersecurity and information security practices and compliance with ISO27001, Cyber Essentials Plus and GDPR

  • Oversee the end-to-end implementation of technology projects

  • Stay up to date with technical advancements and trends to make informed decisions

Operational Oversight

  • Manage IT infrastructure, service desk operations, and user support.

  • Monitor SLAs, KPIs, and user satisfaction

  • Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity planning.

  • Maintain IT policies, procedures, and documentation.

  • Collaborate with other departments to assess and prioritise technology needs

  • Provide technical support and guidance

  • Recommend/implement new hardware and software solutions

Leadership

  • Contribute to the IT strategy and roadmap

  • Identify improvement and innovation opportunities, driving digital transformation

  • Manage the relationship with IT contractors and vendors

  • Contribute to the budget planning process and manage costs

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field
  • 5+ years' experience in leading, mentoring, and developing IT Support, infrastructure and/or Systems Admin teams
  • Hands-on experience of O365 Architecture and Administration
  • Detailed working knowledge of Microsoft Intune
  • Experience of procuring and supporting SaaS platforms
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing cybersecurity strategies, conducting security assessments, and managing security incidents.
  • Experience in managing relationships with IT vendors and service providers, including negotiating contracts and ensuring service delivery
  • Experience of leading and developing IT teams
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including experience in the preparation of reports for senior leaders.
  • Full driving licence valid for use in UK and Ireland and access to use of a car, with appropriate business insurance
