Job description
In this role, you will lead the design, governance and delivery of secure infrastructure architectures across complex environments. You will take ownership of technical solutions from high-level design through to low-level implementation, ensuring they align with architectural standards, security requirements and operational needs. Working closely with delivery teams, operations and stakeholders, you will translate business requirements into resilient, scalable platforms that support mission-critical services.
You will act as a technical authority throughout delivery, providing leadership, assurance and hands-on expertise across virtualisation, networking, security and identity platforms. With strong support from CGI's expert community, you will be encouraged to innovate, improve standards, and continuously enhance the quality and consistency of technical delivery.
Key responsibilities include:

Lead & Own end-to-end infrastructure architecture design from HLD to LLD

Define & Govern architecture standards, patterns and best practices
-
Design & Deliver VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solutions across compute, storage and lifecycle management
-
Architect & Secure NSX-T solutions including overlay networking and micro-segmentation
-
Design & Implement secure network architectures across data centre and hybrid environments
-
Oversee & Assure identity solutions including Active Directory and ADFS
-
Support & Design Windows and Linux server platforms and core services
-
Act & Lead as technical authority during delivery, resolving complex issues
-
Engage & Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions
You will bring strong experience designing and governing secure infrastructure solutions within complex, regulated environments. You will be comfortable providing technical leadership, producing high-quality designs, and communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Technical Architect or Senior Infrastructure Architect

Strong hands-on experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)
-
Deep knowledge of NSX-T Data Centre, including network security and micro-segmentation
-
Strong understanding of network security, firewall technologies, routing and switching
-
Experience designing and governing identity solutions using Active Directory and ADFS
-
Strong experience with Windows Server and Linux operating systems
-
Proven ability to produce clear, high-quality HLDs and LLDs
Desirable experience includes:

Hybrid or multi-cloud architectures

Automation and infrastructure-as-code concepts
-
Security architecture and zero-trust principles
-
Experience working in large enterprise or highly regulated environments

Please note this role is based full time on client site near Corsham. Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold DV or HLC clearance. Candidates with SC clearance who are willing to progress to DV will also be considered.
