At CGI, you will play a vital role in ensuring our technology platforms remain resilient, scalable, and ready for the future. As an IT Capacity Manager, you will help shape how we deliver secure, high-performing infrastructure that underpins mission-critical services for our clients. You will work at the heart of complex VMware environments, driving proactive planning, insight-led decision making, and measurable outcomes. Supported by a collaborative culture that values ownership and innovation, you will have the opportunity to influence strategy, optimise investment, and make a tangible impact across high-profile programmes., In this role, you will take ownership of capacity management across on-premise and hybrid VMware environments, ensuring infrastructure capability aligns with current and future business demand. You will apply ITIL capacity management practices to proactively plan, monitor, and optimise compute, storage, and network resources, enabling reliable service delivery and value-driven investment decisions.
You will work closely with technical and service teams to identify risks early, maintain service performance, and support long-term infrastructure strategy. With strong backing from CGI's expert community, you will be encouraged to innovate, improve processes, and continuously enhance how capacity is managed across secure environments.
Key responsibilities include:

Lead & Own ITIL-aligned Business, Service, and Component Capacity Management

Develop & Maintain capacity plans, forecasts, and demand models

Monitor & Analyse utilisation, trends, and performance across VMware platforms

Identify & Mitigate capacity risks and performance constraints proactively

Produce & Present dashboards, reports, and insights for stakeholders

Support & Advise on hardware refresh, expansion, and decommissioning decisions
Requirements
Do you have experience in VMware?, You will bring strong experience in capacity management within complex, secure IT environments, alongside a solid understanding of ITIL practices and service lifecycle concepts. You will be analytical, detail-focused, and confident engaging with stakeholders to translate data into clear, actionable insight., * Proven experience working in Defence or similarly secure environments

Strong experience managing infrastructure capacity at scale

Hands-on experience with capacity and monitoring tools (e.g. vRealize Operations or similar)

Strong understanding of ITIL 4 practices

Experience working with Change, Incident, Problem, and Service Design processes

Foundational knowledge of VMware-based infrastructure; VCF/VxRail desirable

Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This position requires working onsite in Chippenham 5 days a week.
